1. Purpose of This Policy

This policy explains specifically how PawChart uses pet lab data — separate from your personal account information — and what choices you have about that use.

2. How Your Lab Data Powers the Service

When you upload a veterinary lab report, PawChart extracts biomarker values and uses them to generate an AI-powered plain-language summary. This processing is required to provide the core service and occurs regardless of your data use preferences.

3. Optional: Anonymized Data for AI Improvement

With your explicit consent, PawChart may use your pet's lab data in anonymized, aggregated form to improve our AI models and reference datasets. Specifically this means:

• Your data is stripped of all identifying information (no name, email, phone, pet name, or breed) before any aggregated use
• Anonymized data may be used to improve extraction accuracy, refine reference ranges, and train AI interpretation models
• Anonymized data is never shared with third parties in identifiable form
• You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting privacy@pawchart.ai

4. What We Will Never Do

• Sell your identifiable pet health data to any third party
• Use your data to target you with advertising from third parties
• Share your lab results with insurance companies, employers, or other pet owners
• Use your data for purposes beyond operating and improving PawChart

5. Reference Data

PawChart may use licensed third-party veterinary reference datasets to power features like breed-specific reference ranges and cohort comparisons. This reference data is infrastructure — it is never combined with your identifiable information and is not derived from your uploads.

6. Data Portability

You can export all of your pet's lab data at any time from the Settings page. Your export includes all uploaded lab results, extracted biomarker values, and AI summaries in JSON format.
